We established Shanti Foundation Trust in 2016 to initiate various activities to Empowering Women thru Education and Sports. I personally feel that Edication and Sports open the doors for inner freedom.
My son Tanmay Pradeep is Chief Trustee and he is pursuing PG in Law from TERI SAS University Delhi.
India ruled the world in Hockey. It was known for its technique n skills. With the advent of astroturf, there came a period when Indian Hockey lost its sheen, as it became more a display of stamina rather than skills, on international turfs.
UP played lead role to keep Indian Hockey upfront.
I was exposed to Hockey because my friend Nisha Mishra, retired as a senior sports official, was Hockey person.
With Indian Hockey sulking, women hockey lost almost its ground. No support, no public visibility on grounds, we decided to promote Women Hockey in a big way. We made it a Prize Money event. We offered Rs.1,00,000/- cash Prize to the winning Team, ever the highest money in any sports event in 2016.
We hosted 3 consecutive Senior Women hockey prize money championships. It was all blocked for last two years because of Corona crises.
On 29th August, we are hosting an exhibition match at 4 PM in Mohd Shahid Hockey Stadium, Vijayant Khand, Gomti Nagar, to celebrate the National Sports Day to commemorate the legacy of Major Dhayan Chand.
I am delighted to share that our entire family, including my mother Shanti Pandey, will be present on the day. My sister Priya Pankaj Srivastav and her husband Mr Pankaj Srivastav (DGM ONGC) are already in Lucknow from Delhi to participate.
As our event partner, #ShailPrabhaFoundation (Mr. Neelesh Dwivedi) is going for its maiden launch on the day. We are looking forward for long term partnership in promoting Sports.
